Victorian Sliders® has received special recognition from the judges of the UK Private Capital Excellence in Sustainability Awards for their commitment to embedding sustainability across their business operations and long-term growth strategy.
This recognition relates to the period when the business was supported by growth capital investor BGF, Victorian Sliders® was named among a select group of organisations recognised by the judging panel for successfully integrating sustainability into their business strategy and operations while demonstrating measurable value and responsible business performance.
Sustainability remains a key focus for Victorian Sliders®, underpinning initiatives across manufacturing, operations and product development. This recognition reflects the company's ongoing commitment to reducing their environmental impact while delivering long-term value for customers, employees and stakeholders.
A cornerstone of that commitment is the company's on-site recycling plant, which enables 100% of production offcuts to be recycled, including glass. By recycling and repurposing both glass and PVC-U, Victorian Sliders® is actively reducing landfill waste, lowering energy consumption and cutting carbon emissions.
The recycling process also allows recycled PVC-U to be reintroduced into production to be used within our ECOSlide® profiles. While current profiles contain 30% recycled PVC-U, ongoing improvements to our co-extrusion processes are expected to double this percentage. The initiative is scheduled to be implemented in two phases later this year, with phase 1 increasing the recycled material to 40% in August followed by phase 2 which will increase this amount further to 60% by the end of the year.
Sustainability considerations extend beyond the product itself. Victorian Sliders® also utilises post-industrial waste to manufacture injection-moulded corner protectors for our packaging, further reducing waste while optimising space during transportation. This approach has helped reduce transport requirements by up to 20%, contributing to a more efficient supply chain.
The UK Private Capital Excellence in Sustainability Awards celebrate organisations that are driving positive environmental and social outcomes while demonstrating how responsible business practices can support commercial success and sustainable growth.
Nick Evans, CEO of Victorian Sliders®, said:
"We are delighted to have been recognised by the judges of the UK Private Capital Excellence in Sustainability Awards. We remain committed to identifying opportunities to reduce our environmental impact, improve operational efficiency and contribute positively to the communities and markets we serve."
This acknowledgement highlights the progress Victorian Sliders® has made on their sustainability journey and reinforces their commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and responsible business practices.
